A Crash Course in Cloudspotting (the subversive act of horizontality)

A Crash Course in Cloudspotting

(the subversive act of horizontality)

Directed by Raquel Meseguer (Uncharted Collective), in collaboration with Artist / Designer Synnøve Fredericks and Composer Jamie McCarthy.

An invitation to pause. To listen. To rest.

An audio-visual journey for the ill, infirm and sick. That is all of us, If not today, then maybe tomorrow.

An ode to invisible disability and acts of bravery we don’t see.

A Crash Course in Cloudspotting audio-visual installation will be open to visit at:
Ovalhouse, Cafe Gallery, Mon 29 Jan – Sat 10 Feb, 12:00pm

Access Information

We can meet partially sighted audience at Ovalhouse station / bus stops on Friday 2nd Feb (3-6pm). Please call the box office to book. The main text in the installation is also available as audio. Tactile thresholds mark the boundary of the installation.

We have a hearing loop system (headphones available at reception). The installation involves multiple speakers, and sound vibration is a key part of the experience.  A transcript of the audio stories is available at reception.

We hope the installation is used as a resting space, to support people who visit Ovalhouse and access the theatre programme.

If you have an invisible impairment, you can lie down to watch Medea Electronica on Fri 2nd Feb (we will create 5 resting spaces on the floor, in the first row. Please book early to avoid disappointment).

We understand some people are not able to access the Ovalhouse building. An audio excerpt of the show will be available w/c 29th.

An R&D project supported by Unlimited, celebrating the work of disabled artists, with funding from Arts Council England.
