Digital Presentations of A Crash Course in Cloudspotting

Digital presentations of A Crash Course in Cloudspotting are a hybrid experience, a play of low tech and high tech storytelling that begins when our handmade booklet arrives on your doorstep.

The piece explores different ways of being together by gathering 21 audience members, potentially from all over the world for a 50 minute remote experience. The piece is underscored by the live acts of rest communicated by 21 Resters via our Cloudspotting App: when they press ‘Start Resting’ on the App it triggers a sound loop that recurs at regular intervals. The shifting soundscape of the Resters, along with the sound loops triggered by audience, are the music that bookclub this storytelling experience.

“60 minutes of bliss. Thank you. I suffer with constant pain, which doctors can not diagnose. The stories you read resonated so deeply. Rest is the switch. You have renewed my understanding of this. The soundtrack was just perfect for me. Really helped with breathing. Thank you.”

Audience Feedback

“Most exciting was knowing that at the very same time I was resting the others were too! I know other people rest throughout the day of course, but I felt connected to them. As the app joined us some how.”
